About Reading the Fantastic

We are a group of people from the University of Leeds who are fascinated by texts which are a part of the fantastic tradition, and we are keen to explore these texts in terms of their inter-cultural and interdisciplinary connections. These texts include but are not limited to fairy tales, folk tales,  fantasy and other forms of speculative fiction.  Our activities for the 2014/2014 academic year involve reading group sessions and a seminar series,  in addition to the Tales Beyond Borders Conference.

Reading the Fantastic is: Ikhlas Abdul Hadi, Christine Chettle, Sarah Dodd (conference organizers), Huwaida Issa and Rose Komu.
